Dr. Mitchell Elkiss a neurologist, will present Acupuncture in the Management of Fibromyalgia. Dr. Elkiss will present a demonstration of an acupuncture treatment.

Michigan Fibromyalgia Panel
Recently, I met with the members of the pain and symptom committee in Lansing. I will be presenting to the committee in August, speaking on fibromyalgia and the role of advocacy, in Michigan.
I have started the procedure to initiate a Michigan Fibromyalgia Panel, meeting with senators and lobbyists to make this panel a reality.
A Fibromyalgia Panel would be charged with:
• Promoting public awareness of fibromyalgia which is a widespread, but poorly understood, disease.
• Promoting understanding of the importance of early diagnosis, proper treatment and management of fibromyalgia.
• Promoting the delivery of appropriate information, programs and services regarding fibromyalgia.
• Encouraging research into the nature, cause and treatment of fibromyalgia.
