Helping Our Pain and Exhaustion, Inc. (H.O.P.E.), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to develop and implement programs dedicated to improving the quality of life, for people with fibromyalgia.

H.O.P.E. accomplishes its mission through four major program areas:


H.O.P.E. conducts lectures, round-table discussions, and upcoming classes to educate both patients and physicians.

Patient Support

H.O.P.E provides ongoing patient support groups, spouses & families support group,sss one-on-one support services through phone calls and a variety of free or low-cost resources for uninsured patients. Volunteer (veteran fibromyalgia patients) support newly diagnosed patients through our “Fibromyalgia Buddy Program.”

Advocacy & Awareness

H.O.P.E.’s director participates in legislative lobbying to raise awareness and education of Fibromyalgia.  Dr. Ostalecki successfully obtained a proclamation recognizing Fibromyalgia Awareness Day in Michigan.

H.O.P.E. will be hosting a Fibromyalgia Midwest Advocacy training, in the fall of 2011.

Dr. Ostalecki is involved in many professional, community and outreach programs including:

  • Advisory Committee on Pain and Symptom Management (ACPSM), Lansing, MI
  • Subcommittee member of the Governor’s web site on health awareness, Lansing, MI
  • American Pain Foundation Action Network, Michigan State Leader
  • National Institute of Health-Council of Public Representative (COPR) Associates Member Program.

  • Facilitator: Fibromyalgia Spouses & Families Support Group- Farmington Hills, MI.


H.O.P.E creates high-quality, un-biased educational resources. This includes H.O.P.E’s successful documentary, Faces of Fibromyalgia, published books, articles, podcasts & upcoming webinars.
